Thresholds

Thresholds is my course that specifically accompanies Red Tarot and so it really is at the heart of my tarot teaching. Thresholds teaches tarot to you as a means to increase your tolerance, your capacity for risk. To ready yourself for revelation, to grow into the larger unknown and loosen the cords that corset your sure sense of self. This course is for you if you want a comprehensive tarot education that marries the mundane with the magical, the spiritual with the revolutionary. This is a course in transformation, magic, manifestation, healing, ritual and decolonization.

Wild Cards

Get wild with your divination. Regarding and respect animals as relatives and agents of decolonization. Take your Tarot into the wilderness, study a queer untamed ontology. Enroll in this course if you want to Revolutionize your animal augur. This course offers a decolonial ethic that accounts for animal bodies as resurgent bodies.

The tarot will be our counterpoint to create a circuit of coherence amongst the various cultural layers, significations, and vantages that coexist within the cards animal references. No prior experience with tarot required but always welcome.

Paper Crowns

Even students who study tarot for years will tell me they still struggle with the Court cards. While our current engagement with visual culture is done via the omnipresent selfie, I consider the challenge practitioners have with reading the Court comes from being unacquainted the history of portraiture.

For most of the modern era, only the wealthy and powerful, only royals, would maintain the possibility to see an image of oneself. The royals in the tarot court represent this compressed, reworked history by showing us ourselves through these imagined images of the powerful, of the select few who would actually be able to commission portraiture.

In this course we will consider how the selfie resonates so strongly because it is an evolution of the self-portrait that was once the preserve of a highly skilled few. Sign up for this five week deep into the court cards.

FADO

FADO will continue to develop the red pedagogy I put forth as we gaze into the sky and measure prophecy by parallax.

This class series will be like pearls on a necklace, disparate, but connected as well, baroque in psychic insight luminously hidden in our fleshy darkness. A read red aims to realize a divinatory embodiment. It is to raise one hand, prick it, and revel in the realization that beneath the racialization that differently locates and classifies our specific bodies in time and place, red is the blood we will all spill. And the suffering we share means when we call out with our cards in sorrow, the response of divinity will affirm a shared humanity. The blood is on all of our hands. Its haptic.

You will feel red. Red reading produces, attunes a synesthestic perceptual phenomenon of psycho-active yearning. Yearning for an answer, a direction amidst our existential drift, we vocally render our query. Images answer. Vision is engaged, colors are heard, shapes have a scent. The augur is a river with many cognitive tributaries. 

TENZ [XZ]

TENZ is a facilitated decan walk through the minor arcana of the tarot. This is a year-long guide into the minor arcana, using the tarot images as doorways into a depth understanding of the zodiac. This will deeply expand your consideration, regard and application of the minor arca, the decans and the major arcana “parents” of each the minor arcana / pip cards.

This is a borderlands course. It aims to fuse relationships by honoring a narrative tradition which creates poetic coherence out of a life of movement and fragmentation, as is the case when modern readers traverse dissociative linguistic, colonial, cultural, psychic and physical borders. The class is cut into 12 monthly units, following the cards / decans of the current zodiacal season, which cuts the zodiac down to a finer grain (36 distinct faces versus 12).

TENZ Year 2

While the first year XZ is focused on reading, this year emphasizes writing. In this I invite you to become a writing comadre in that we will approach the writing as dialogic, recursive, democratic, spirit-inflected, and only partially within our conscious control.

XZY2 will alternatively give space for student presentations of their own decan artistic attunings and uncoverings, as well as medieval Islamicate timing techniquesAmidst the charts of our cohorts we will study:

Solar Revolutions, Fidaria, Monthly Profections, Annual Profections, Secondary Progressions, Heliacal Rising and Setting stars and more! I further aim to deeper integrate limipia tools and techniques such as candle work, reading the flame, and barridas.
