The Red and the Righteous: On the Decans of Mars

$25.00

What does Mars mean? How can we see its six faces in the tarot?

In this class we review the nature of the boisterous, incendiary classical planet, Mars. We review the triune nature of decans, diagram the Mars decans and then review each of the six Mars decans as syncretized to the minor arcana as well as the spirits, powers and applications of each:

  • Mars in Aries 1/ The Two of Wands

  • Mars in Gemini 2 / The Nine of Swords

  • Mars in Leo 3 / The Seven of Wands

  • Mars in Scorpio 1 / The Five of Cups

  • Mars in Capricorn 2 / The Three of Pentacles

  • Mars in Pisces 3 / The Ten of Cups

Lastly, we review a custom tarot spread for Mars. After watching the video, I invite you to join me in the comments or in the subscriber chat for discussion, to ask questions, and share your Mars placement, experiences, insights and potential revelations, and to explore your reading. A Richard Siken quote has been sitting with me as particularly emblematic of the first decan of Scorpio, “The enormity of my desire disgusts me.” And while I’m uncertain of how accurate his birthtime is, he of course has Mars domicile in this first decan. If you look and listen the decans will speak continue to plainly and poetically to us.
